Thresholds of TEC variability describing the plasmaspheric disturbed state

A classification of the TEC variability is attempted in order to describe the disturbed states of the ionosphere and plasmasphere. Four different disturbed states are distinguished, according to the amplitude of TEC variability. Remarks are made regarding the variability and geomagnetic storms.
