W opracowaniu przedstawiono podstawy koncepcji oceny cyklu życia (Life Cycle Assessment - LCA) w powiązaniu z procesem zarządzania. Omówiono zasady stosowania LCA jako narzędzia w przedsiębiorstwie. Przeanalizowano zagadnienia relacji LCA do procesu decyzyjnego i porocesu zarządzania. Pokazano, że procedurę LCA można wpisać w łańcuch rozwoju produktu. Wyjaśniono różnice pomiędzy koncepcjami Oszacowania Cyklu Życia (Life Cycle Assessment), różnymi podejściami do cyklu Życia (Life Cycle Approach) i Prostym Myśleniem w Kategoriach Cyklu Życia (Life Cycle Thinking). Podano przykłady zastosowania LCA zgodnie z łańcychem rozwoju produktu skupiając się na zastosowaniach LCA w celu zdefiniowania strategii, a także marketingu. Opisano także zastosowanie LCA do celów informacyjnych, szkoleniowych i edukacyjnych.

The paper presents the grounds of the Life XCycle Assessment (LCA) concept related to the management process. The principles of using the LCA as a tool in the enterprise are discussed and the issues of the relationship of the LCA and the process of decision taking and management are analysed. It has been shown that the LCA procedure can be included in the chain of product development. The differences between the Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Approach and Life Cycle Thinking concepts have been explained. The examples are given of using the LCA in accordance with the chain product development, paying attention to applying the LCA for definingh the strategies, conducting R&D and design work, supplies as well as production and marketing. The use of the LCA for information, training and education purposes have been described.
