Artykuł przedstawia obowiązki przedsiębiorcy związane z eksploatacją kopalin towarzyszących oraz problematykę możliwości zagospodarowania i wykorzystania kopalin towarzyszących i kopalin użytecznych znajdujących się w nadkładzie złóż węgli brunatnych.

Onen-pit exploitations of resources deposits in connected to the overburden moving. In the case of lignite the mass of overburden moved is coal extracted. The overburden consists of minerals and rocks, exploitation of which can be economically viable, so those minerals and rocks can be treated as the mineral resources associated to lignite resource. There are presented in the paper legal conditionsassociated resources exploitation as well as the duties of geological survey. Connected to open-pit activity. There is also shown the issue of associated resources utilisation as well as their status depending on their assessment within geological documentation. Moreover the proposition of the way for documenting of mineral resources utilised, extruded overburden during lignite exploitation.
