Podano przyczyny szybkiego zużycia łańcuchów urabiających koparek wielonaczyniowych pracujących w kopalniach odkrywkowych węgla brunatnego. Przedstawiono metody regeneracji poszczególnych elementów łańcuchów ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem napawania łukiem krytym przy użyciu samoosłonowych drutów proszkowych. Omówiono wyniki badań eksploatacyjnych trwałości łańcuchów urabiających prowadzonych na odkrywkach KWB "Konin" S.A. Wskazano na korzyści wynikające z zastosowanych metod regeneracji łańcuchów.

The article enumerates reasons for fast wearing out of chains in bucket chain excavators digging overburden in lignite open cast mines. The wear out is caused by the friction force between slides placed on links and in slide bearings, knives and teeth and the ground as well as in the links themselves, and as a result of knives and teeth strikes on hard stone inclusions. It mainly consists in the deformation of the initial geometrical as a result of the above mentioned friction processes and dynamic loads of percussive character, and affects the following chain elements: buckets including knives and teeth; intermediary, bucket and side links; slides; bolts; washers; wedges; articulated joints sleeves, and driver wheels. There are presented regeneration methods for particular chain elements. The main advantage of the regeneration in the possibility of multiple usage of the same element, which leads to considerable reductions in the exploitation costs of mining machines. To regenerate the worn chain elementsthere is mostly used covered curve pad welding. The following elements are pad welded: side, intermediary and inner bucket links; bucket knives and teeth; and driver wheels. The other chain elements, such as: bolts; washers; wedges; articulated joints sleeves; and slides are not regenerated but exchanged for new elements. Lately, because of fast wear out of slides, there has been introduced their experimental pad welding. The most important innovation in pad welding is the application of sel-shielding flux-cored wires instead of used up to now heavy wires and shielded electrodes. There were conducted exploitation studies on the durability of digging chains on ER-710 and Rs-560 excavators working with overburden in Konin Open Cast Mine. The studies revealed that the durability of chains with elements pad welded with self-shielding flux-cored wires is higher by 60-120% than the durability of elements pad welded with heavy wire and shielded electrodes, the range depending on the soil characteristics. It has been found that in cohesive soils of the fourth diggability class of a very high grindability (the content of highly abrasive quartz fractions over 60% in the soil) the difference approximates the lower value, while for soils of the second and third diggability classes and quartz fractions content c. 20% there is the biggest difference. As the costs of chains are high, considerable economies connected with the exploitation of bucket chain excavators can be found. Repair Plant in Konin Open Cast Mine has opened a modern technological line for digging chains regeneration which has entirely automated posts for side links and teeth pad welding. To form the line there has been largely used the existing potential of the plant so the investment costs have been considerably reduced.
