Przedstawiono wyniki badań metalograficznych napoin z samoosłonowych drutów proszkowych typu DPT-6 i CS-400, którymi napawano noże i zęby czerpaków oraz ogniwa łańcuchów urabiających koparek wielonaczyniowych. Zamieszczono wyniki badań eksploatacyjnych łańcuchów urabiających prowadzonych na koparkach ERs-710 i RS-560 w KWB Konin S.A. Wykazano przydatność i celowość stosowania samoosłonowych drutów proszkowych typu DPT-6 i CS-400 do napawania noży czerpaków i ogniw łańcuchów urabiających.

The issues connected with the selection of wires for pad welding of various elements in lignite excavators have been a matter of interest of Materials Technology and Technical Mechanics Institute at Wroclaw Technical University and POLTEGOR-INSTITUTE Open cast Mining Institute for a long time. They are interested in comprehensive analysis of requirements for pad welded layers, selection of welding wires and pad welding technology as well as the classification and determination of reasons for macro- and microscopic failures. Initial work on the selection of wires for pad welding bucket knives and teeth were connected with wires and electrodes of the following types: 300X9T6, Cintrac 650C, Abradur 64, 7H-UTC-02, Abradur 58 EN-200, EN-450, EN-600., Castolin XHD-6715, Castolin 6006 and DPT-6. In the case of chain excavator links there have been considered possibilities of using wires SG-2 and CS-400. They have resulted in the selection of DPT-6 and CS-400 welding wires for particular metalographic research and exploitation tests. There have been made multi-layer welds with CS-400 flux-core wire on 35 steel and DPT-6 flux-core wire on 35SG steel. There are presented results of metalographic research on padding welds with self-shielding flux-core wires DPT-6 and CS-400types which were used for pad welding bucket knives and teeth and digging chains links of bucket chain excavators. The studies included micro- and macroscopic analyses of the structure and hardness measurements of padding welds. In the result of the studies it has been found that: - the structure of DPT-6 padding weld is correct and characteristic for layers pad welded with this wire. The advantages include among others the lack of micro-crakcs at the ferrite - eutectic boundary. Favorable, uniform (with unimportant deviations)distribution of hardness at the whole padding weld intersection should ensure its uniform wear out in the exploitation process (apart from the impact of macro- and microstructure flaws) in the elements subject to abrasion with percussive loads at the same time. This kind of padding weld should be applied especially for bucket knives and teeth. - In the case of CS-400 padding weld the lack of serious macro- and microscopic flaws is its great advantage. The structure is close to uniform at the whole intersection. It implies the uniform hardness distribution which should also ensure its uniform abrasion in the exploitation process. The level of hardness in this padding weld, which is not too high, makes it suitable for the application in chain excavator links, where there is a need for the adjustment of particular elements in the course of exploitation. There are presented comparative results of exploitation tests for digging chains carried on Ers-710 and Rs-560 excavators in Konin Open Cast Mine. The results entirely confirmed the purposefulness of the application of self-shielding flux-core wires of DPT-6 and CS-400 types for pad welding fast wearing out elements in digging chains.
