Two techniques have been used to evaluate the rate of carbon dioxide sorption in sample made from squeezed hard coal grains. The first technique consisted in rapid filling of the previously evacuated sample with gas. The problem was solved by numerical computation, in accordance with the accepted model. The other method consisted in gas filtering through the same sample, the gas pressure being periodic. Simple calculations have been derived from the phase shift between the pressure and temperature signals. ô
