W referacie przedstawiono realizację podstawowych elementów programu rządowego reformy i jego korekty w aspekcie restrukturyzacji technicznej oraz jej stan obecny i dotychczasowe osiągnięcia. W następnej kolejności omówiono kierunki zmian w zakresie gospodarki złożem oraz nowe trendy w zakresie kierowania stropem, modernizacji urządzeń podstawowych, wyposażenia przodków, odstawy i transportu, procesu wzbogacania węgla, zarządzania bezpieczeństwem. Na zakończenie przedstawiono planowane nakłady inwestycyjne na zakup maszyn i urządzeń na lata 2000-2005.

The paper "Trends in Technical Modernization of Mines in 2000-2005" presented realization of the basic elements of the government programme of the reform and its correction with regard to technical restructuring and its present situation and up-to-date accomplishments. After that, the directions of changes were discussed regarding the management of the deposit and new trends related to strata management. Modernization of basic equipment, eąuipment of coalfaces, haulage and underground transportation, coal preparat/on processes and safety management. In final section plans of investment expenditures has been presented for purchases of machines and equipment in 2000-2005.
