The investigation have been carried out the carbochemistry laboratory of the Institute Chemical Coal Processing on determination of the influence of reference anthracite properties on the values of caking power by the index RI determined in conformity with the standard PN-81/G-04518. Hard coals of various types have been selected for the investigation. RI index determination was done with application of reference anthracite of differentiated properties. The results of investigation carried out have been presented with indication of consequences resulting from application of reference anthracite with various quality in laboratories of coal quality assessment.
