PL

W artykule poruszono problem pomiaru konkurencyjności i efektywności w sektorze bankowym. Na wstępie zaprezentowano definicje i metody pomiaru efektywności oraz konkurencyjności. Następnie wskazano powiązania pomiędzy konkurencyjnością a koncentracją sektora bankowego w Polsce i Słowacji. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono wyniki badań efektywności sektora bankowego w Europie.

The article describes the problem of competitiveness and effectiveness quantification in banking. At the beginning the definition and methods of competitiveness and effectiveness measurement are presented. Then the connections between competitiveness and concentration in banking sector in Poland and Slovakia are analyzed. In the second part of the article the definition of effectiveness is presented. After it the results of effectiveness in bank sector in Europe are given.
