The paper describes a pneumatic system and a system for its measurement mounted on a special testing facility, with the range of experiments being defined. The analysis involved determining the static and dynamic characteristics of the system responsible for loading the ring in an active face seal and assessing the measurement errors. The step characteristics were used to develop a mathematical model of the system.
