Przeprowadzone przez Państwowy Instytut Geologiczny Oddział Karpacki w Krakowie w latach 1979-1980 prace poszukiwawcze w Jaworzu przyczyniły się do rozpoznania zasobów wód termalnych w obrębie utworów miocenu i dewonu. Stwierdzono występowanie solanek o temperaturze na wypływie z ujęcia 23-32°C, mineralizacji 100-145 g/dm3 i podwyższonej zawartości składników swoistych, w szczególności jodu i żelaza. Ze względu na brak funduszy, do tej pory nie podjęto eksploatacji wód. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki rozpoznania hydrogeochemicznego wód termalnych Jaworzna wraz z oceną możliwości wykorzystania do celów balneologicznych.

The exploration carried out in Jaworze in the years 1979-1980 by the Carpathian Branch of the Polish Geological Institute contributed to the identification of geothermal waters in Miocene and Devonian formations. The occurence of brine with an outflow temperature of 23-32°C at the intake, mineralisation of 100-145 g/dm3 and elevated content of specific components, particularly iodine and iron was confirmed. These waters have not yet been abstracted due to the lack of funds. The paper presents the results of a hydrogeochemical identification of the geothermal water in Jaworze, together with an evaluation of their possible use in balneotherapy.
