The White Paper on European Transport Policy indicates on importance of balanced development of transportation, which promotes alternative transport to road one The water transport is one of such alternatives. Unfortunately, there is in Poland no enough use of potential of this kind of transport, and water routes do not fulfill huge economic part. The Odra River with tributaries is a basic waterway, which goes through the Lubuskie Voivodshipo This Voivodship is characterized by many rivers and water reservoirs and has the favourably shaped net of navigable river roads, what determines attractiveness of the region and is a factor of development of the Lubuskie.
