The object of the article is the problem of Best Available Techniques (BAT) utilized in processes of melting cast iron. It is possible, with help of these methods, to fulfill the accessible emission values as well as raw materials and energy consumptions values recommended in the Reference Document BREF and thus reduce considerably the negative influence of melting processes on the environment. The fulfilling of the above requirements is an indispensable condition for foundries to get the integrated permissions according to the EU Directive IPPC.
