The disturbance due to a time harmonic mechanical or thermal source in a homogeneous, anisotropic, generalized thermoviscoelastic half-space is investigated by applying the Fourier transform. The integral transform has been inverted by using a numerical technique to the components of displacements, stresses, and temperature distribution in the physical domain for the Lord-Shulman (L-S) theory, Green-Lindsay (G-L) theory and coupled theory (CT) of thermoelasticity. The effect of viscosity has been depicted graphically on the resulting quantities for insulated boundary and temperature gradient boundary.
