In presented paper the considerations relating to the choice of input factors to tribologic system as well as quantities which were accepted as measure of changes of surface layer (SL) state. The results of experimental investigations were also introduced. On the ground of them the rightness of choice was verified. Conducted analytic and experimental investigations permitted on qualification of influence of chosen factors on intensity of wear process of rolling bearings elements. As object of investigations the angular ball bearings were accepted. For assumed object of investigations the independent variables set was as follows: the amplitude of pressures in contact area of balls and raceways, the frequency of variable load. Changes were recorded in real-time. Recorded changes were described by mathematical models. The conducted investigations permitted also on formulation of the several conclusions, which can to be of useful in all stages of machine existence.
