Analysing some of the aspects that show us what influence choice of materials for manufacturing of friction pairs has on their duration period, maintenance and exploitation costs, it was undoubtedly determined that greater attention must be devoted to choosing of materials (which is done at construction process). Friction pairs consisting of leading screw-screw nut of a double column car lift may serve as a good example to show the importance of implementation of machine elements tribology during the manufacturing phase of the new product. Feasibility of choice of materials for manufacturing of friction pairs has been determined by technical and economic analysis.
