Involving and application of modern cutting tools and new cutting materials as are, for example, cubic boron nitride (CBN), present simple means for reduction of costs of metalworking cutting. In this paper is given classification of materials for modern cutting tools and the experimental research of the function of wear tool from CBN for finished turning of hardened steel 20CrMo5 for different cutting speeds on concrete production conditions. Experimental data for the different values of the cutting speed is approximation by complex power-exponential regression and its correlation coefficient in all example is greater than 0.99.
