The development trends of geoenergetics in Poland in the 21st century (25-27.09.1999 ; Kraków-Zakopane, Poland)
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Primary energy supply of Poland is dominated by coal, which has a share of 72%. Renewable energy share is very low - 1.6%, out of which geothermal energy is a margin. However, estimated potential of geothermal energy reaches 88% of renewable sources of Poland. Poland should develop geothermal energy, to reach European Union pattern, i.e. renewables share at 8-10% of total energy consumption, before 2010. Increase of geothermal usage will reduce emissions of air pollutants and preserve coal resources. Because of high costs of drilling the activity should be at first use already drilled wells. Another promising direction is to use low temperature geothermal waters merged with heat pumps.
