Clay belongs to the oldest building materials, which has been used for building houses for centuries. The history of houses made of clay is the history of the development of civilization reflecting both technical and functional standards of epoch they come from. It shows a vast constructional potential of this material, which has been used for building of houses and buildings of religions as well as administrative purposes. The material, the techniques of construction attacted by different cultures, traditions, climatic conditions determined the unique character of clay houses and buildings. The arciclc presents new applications of old techniques in the development of contemporary clay buildings in the world. It shows a variety of modern architectural solutions in relation to the place and tradition.
