Ammonia based chemical solid sorption systems are capable of heat transformation with use of reversible chemical reactions. Among its advantages are ecological indifference and variety of working conditions (temperature and pressure flexibility), as well as simplicity of the construction (lack of mechanical elements). The analysis adsorption refrigeration system using calcium chloride and ammonia has been presented in this paper. The relationship between volume of the cooling chamber (cooling efficiency), the amount of adsorbent and the coefficient of performance for different exploitation and construction parameters has been discussed. The pressure difference between evaporation and condensation levels (important factor due to security reasons) has been considered for different cooling chamber volumes.
