Abstrakty

The following tasks should are the most important steps towards the creation of a coherent reference database in Poland: 1. Harmonisation of conceptual models . introduction of small changes into the VMap and TBD data models may result in considerable simplification of data exchange between those databases. 2. Harmonisation of metadata . metadata shall be stored in the process of development of both the TBD and the VMap L2 databases. 3. Development of multi-resolution databases . it is proposed to design the reference database as a multi-resolution database (of MRDB type); such a database would allow to store data at various levels of detail and accuracy in individual regions of the country. 4. Integration of the DTM with 2D feature data is required.
