The methodological significance of sketchbook drawings in the architectural process of Le Corbusier

Abstrakty

From the point of view of development of knowledge on design methodology, the drawings of Le Corbusier presented a methodological approach to architectural design. The presented article is a homage paid to Le Corbusier as architect and artist and to his creative achievements. Le Corbusier often and at various opportunities stated: "Maybe future generations will appreciate these drawings, the drawings taken from and connected with my creative works". He had in mind the drawings connected with his design works. He elaborated these drawings with care, often after having realized his work. As a result of present development of modern systems knowledge, methodological and praxeological knowledge, particularly of design methodology, the methods of architectonic activity in the creative work of Le Corbusier can be now read off (determined). Perhaps this contribution will be interesting for the Reader-Architect what concerns the methodological quality of the creative design practice of Le Corbusier.
