The paper examines themes of Geographic Information Science and Technology, taking into account available literature on the subject and Polish needs and conditions. Over 300 themes were defined in the following 13 subject areas: 1. Fundamental concepts 2. Geodata 3. Data acquisition 4. Data modeling 5. Data transformation 6. Basic methods for spatial analysis 7. Advanced methods for spatial analysis 8. Cartography and visualization 9. Systems and infrastructures 10. Design aspects 11. Management aspects 12. Geoinformation and society 13. Geoinformation in Poland It is suggested to consider the above list as a basis for further works on the subject to be conducted with the participation of a wide range of experts involved in education, research and development in the area of geoinformation.
