EN

The National Firefighting and Rescue System (KSRG) includes firefighting and rescue units, inspections and guards, institutions and other entities, that are ready to voluntarily participate in rescue operations of based on a civil law agreement . It is an integral part of the state internal security system, including life, health, property and environment protection as well as forecasting, identifying and fighting fires, natural disasters and other local threats. The main aim of the National Firefighting and Rescue System is to fight fires and different natural disasters as well as to eliminate local threats, including technical, chemical, ecological and medical rescue operations. The firefighting system covers a number of planning and organizational operations and applying the extinguishing methods necessary to decrease and eliminate fire - threat. The organization of fighting with other natural disasters covers a number of planning and organizational operations as well as rescue operations necessary to protect life, health, property and to assess the risks of such events and to eliminate them. The organization of technical rescue includes a number of planning and organizational operations and applying technical means to rescue, search or evacuate people and animals as well as protecting properties and environment. The organization of chemical and ecological rescue system includes a number of planning and organizational operations and applying the technical means necessary to protect life and health and environment eliminating direct threats to people.s health as well as environment created by toxic industrial substances or different dangerous chemical materials and by applying a number of agents limiting or eliminating contamination. The organization of medical rescue includes a number of planning and organizational operations and applying measures of medical assistance in out of the hospital conditions aimed at saving life and health during events leading to direct threat or loss of human life or worsening of state of health. KSRG acts on three levels: county, voivodeship and national.
