Abstrakty

EN

The GML language has become a fundamental and universal method for encoding geospatial information. However, this language is only a base for development of application languages for domainspecific data encoding, which are different in various domains. Works on the development of GML are continued from 1997 and, in 2007, it was adopted by ISO as a formal international standard. The number of domain-specific applications for diverse purposes extends every year and this proves universality of the GML language. The methodology of working out GML applications is not simple and rigorous observance of the rules specified in the standard is not a sufficient condition for correct application schema development. In the paper, there are examples of various solutions in different application schemas concerning similar applications of GML language.
