The effect of titania on the texture and acidity of the supports as well as on the activity of the Mo-Ni catalysts was studied. The highest activity in hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of an oil fraction was that of the catalysts containing 50 wt.% TiO2. However, the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity determinations for investigated catalysts show that the TiO2 content in the support must not exceed 20 wt.%. It was found that the activity of the Mo-Ni/Al2O3-TiO2 catalysts in the HDN process depends on the phase composition of the TiO2.
