The objective of the study was to investigate the transformation of propane in the presence of oxygen over ZSM-5-based zeolite catalysts. Consideration was given to the influence of the cations (V5+ Ga3+ Ni2+), oxide phases (Ga2O3, V2O5, Bi2O3, ZnO) and the presence of heteropoly acid (HPMo) on the performance of the catalysts. It was found that the conversion of propane in the presence of vanadium and gallium containing ZSM-5 zeolites exceeded that obtained with H-ZSM-5 by about 10 to 25 wt.%. Ga-containing ZSM-5 zeolites were haracterized by higher selectivities of dehydrocyclization products, and V-containing ZSM-5 zeolites displayed higher selectivities of cracking products. In the presence of the Ni-ZSM-5 zeolite, an undesirable high-yield reaction to COx was obsd. Of the catalysts contg. 5 wt.% oxide phases and H-ZSM-5, the Bi2O3/H-ZSM-5 one displays the highest propene selectivity and the ZnO/H-ZSM-5 shows the highest selectivity of dehydrocyclization products. The presence of HPMo noticeably increases the selectivity of cracking products.
