W artykule zaprezentowano przykłady wykorzystania symulacji komputerowej do wspomagania procesów decyzyjnych w ochronie zdrowia. Dokonano klasyfikacji podstawowych obszarów zastosowań, omówiono główne cele posługiwania się modelami symulacyjnymi w zarządzaniu opieką zdrowotną, przedstawiono podstawowe założenia budowanych modeli, wskazano najnowsze zalety i najbardziej znaczące ograniczenia w stosowaniu symulacji jako narzędzia wspomagającego decyzje w systemach ochrony zdrowia.
