The catalytic oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), i.e. of methanol, acetone, toulene and n-heptane, over Pt, FeMnO or CuMnO catalysts was studied. A fixed bed reactor operated at atmospheric pressure and in temperature range of 80-450C was applied. Each component of VOC-feed, the VOC oxidation was tested at two defferent concentrations. The best results were achieved on the Pt catalyst, characterized by higher oxidation activity for methanol and toulene (in relation to FeMnO and CuMnO catalysts). The results suggest a possible application for the catalytic oxidation of acetone and n-heptane on catalysts, which do not contain a noble metal (Pt,Pd).
