Paper deals with the retrofit towns into power plant in which gas from gasification is used for electricity production in gas-turbine cycle. Gas from gasification of the coal is cleaned at the elevated pressure by Rectisol process and the gases containing H2S, COS and CS2 are combusted, flue gas is for the first treated by selective catalytic reduction process using ammonia to remove NOx. The second stage of flue gas cleaning is catalytic oxidation of SO2 to SO3 followed by sulphuric acid production. Quality of catalyst is described and some data about economy of process mentioned presented. Paper describes processes mentioned above, experiences with operation and in the end compares with other processes energy production as atmospheric and pressurised fluidised bed combustion, PCC, IGCCand GCCT and pulverised coal combustion with limestone FGD technology.
