This paper investigates the non-blocking behavior of multirate multi-Log2N switching networks at the connection (virtual connection) level. Multi-Log2N switching networks are obtained by vertically stacking p copies of switching networks composed of 2x2 switches arranged in Log2N stages, where N is the capacity of the switching network with N a power of 2. In a recent paper [11], C-T. Lea determined necessary and sufficient conditions for such networks to be strictly non-blocking. He considered the discrete bandwidth case and continuous bandwidth case, however in this last case necessity is true only for < (1-b;B}. In this paper, general formulas have been derived for multirate multi-Log2N switching networks to be strictly non-blocking at the connection level. It is shown that for B< / (1-b;B] less number of vertically stacked Log2N switching networks are needed that it was given by C.-T. Lea.
