Forecasting of effects of transport infrastructure development variants is a very important phase of planning procedure in transport. Reliable realization of that step is the necessary condition for a proper appraisal of planned infrastructure investment. The most often tools used in that phase are models. In the paper are described requirements for fulfilling by such models and discussed the usefulness of existing models for analysis of transport infrastructure impacts.
