Properties, preparation methods and use of zirconium hydroxide has been described. Two preparation methods from different raw materials, an Australian zircon concentrate and an Ukrainian zirconium dioxide were investigated in order to produce sulphate ion adsorbents. Products were tested in a desulphurization process of industrial solutions containing 0.037% SO4. While use a very fine adsorbent of 52.7% ZrO2 content the final sulphate concentrations was lowered up to 0.001%.
