Modification of non-woven breast pads used in bras for the period of lactation

Abstrakty
The purpose of the present work was the modification of non-woven breast pads, with focus on their increased protection function during lactation and indications from the, early breast's pathological changes. The modification has been consisted to apply a specially designed modifier on the interior nursing pad's surface. Thermoplastic elastomer with the addition of thermo-chronic pigment was used as a modifier, which is characterized by the ability to change color with temperature change. Then modified pads were subjected to investigation, consisting of a gradual local heating and evaluated the colour changes of modifier points. The changes in temperature correspond to the values of skin temperature of diseased breast woman. After modifying the air permeability and leakage resistance were examined in order to assess the impact of modifications process.
