W artykule przedstawiono sytuację i znaczenie przemysłu skórzanego na tle innych przemysłów w odniesieniu do gospodarki UE. Zwrócono uwagę na zmiany produkcji wyrobów skórzanych zachodzące w Polsce w latach 1985-2006.

The structure of the economy evolves over time as certain activities gain an importance and others decline. Production in the EU's manufacturing industry grew by 26% between 1996 and 2006 on average. In this paper the situation and role of leather industry was presented at the other industries of EU's background. The attention was put on production leather and leather products changes in Poland between 1985 and 2006.
