In this paper the results of the studies on drag reduction induced by the addition of cationic surfactant solutions (hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, HCAC) in the flow, have been presented. The studies showed a considerable influence of the pipe diameter on the effect of the drag reduction obtained. In the paper the comparative analysis of the studies published before and our own experimental observations have been presented. It has been demonstrated that the data from previous literature and these presented by the authors can be correlated by the common formula.
