A combination of selective oxidation and extraction for the desulfurization of the middle distillates of oil was examined. The effect of the kind of the solvent, the solvent: oil ratio, the time of the oxidation and the ultrasound ,,mixing" on the degree of the desulfurization and the yield of the raffinete have been determined. It has been stated that by using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant and acetic acid as a solvent, it is possible to lower the sulfur content in these fractions below 100 ppm at acceptable yields without the deleterious effects of the distillation characteristics and the density of the desulfurized product.
