The organization of operation modes of electrical machines in Power Plant Turów S.A. was presented in the paper. The main stages of electrical motors operation, from the planned purchase till the end ot exploitation, were described. The "Detailed Instruction for Electrical Motors Operation in Power Plant Turów S.A." was characterized. This instruction serves as the basic document, which normalizes the operational rules of electrical machines in the Power Plant. Then the data base system for computer-aided operation of electrical machines was described. This computer system was developed and implemented by technical staff of Power Plant Turów. The special tools were applied as: code system for the identification of electrical motors, analysis and preprocessing of acquired data, making reports and usage of collected information concerning a technical state ofelectrical motors obtained by special diagnosis methods. The basiec aspects of the operational diagnostics performed in the Power Plant were demonstrated as well as the information transfer methods between the staff members responsible for electric machines operation were described. Some examples of the computer system application for the planning process of the medium repair range of electrical motors used in the power block. A lot of advantages resulting from the presented tools and procedures were presented.
