Abstrakty

EN

Noise is the same kind of pollution as emission of dust or other chemical substances. The influence of noise over people is very intensive. Noise causes the decrease of psychophysical efficiency, causes destructive effect on human health and decreases the satisfaction of performed work. Activities related to noise reduction and improvement of present situation are very expensive and difficult undertakings. In the power station a lot of machines and installations work at the same time. In this case we can observe the dispersed noise. Isolation of all these noise sources is very difficult therefore the first steps toward noise reduction relate to sound - suppressing of the most important noise sources. The first such step concerned reduction of noise emitted by the electric motors 6 kV with output of 1600 kW, which drive the cooling water pumps. The operation staff eleborated assumptions to the project of sound-proof covers for these motors. After that an offer was chosen and the task was implemented. The measurements of the noise emission was done, the covers met the requirements assumed according to standards of noise emission.
