The paper discusses some issues related to establishing new enterprises within the telecommunications sector such as: carriers' carriers, telecommunications on-line exchanges, global telecommunications clearing houses. The new structure of the market resulted from significant changes which took place in the global telecommunications sector: declining prices for telecommunications services and a high growth of trunk capacity due to the liberalization process and technological development. Moreover, some crucial modifications within the traditional value chains of telecommunications services, which determine new business relations within the sector, are also being discussed.
