Abstrakty
Przedstawiono sposób wykorzystania odpadowego siarczanu żelaza (II), powstającego przy produkcji dwutlenku tytanu metodą siarczanową, do otrzymywania strącanych pigmentów żelazowych. Omówiono przemiany termiczne strącanych tlenków i hydroksotlenków żelaza. Badania przemian termicznych tlenków prowadzono za pomocą derywatografu MOM 1500C. Badania przemian struktury krystalicznej tlenków prowadzono za pomocą dyfraktometru Philips PW 1710 wyposażonego w kamerę wysokotemperaturową.
Precipitated iron oxides and hydroxides are widely used as coloured inorganic pigments and as raw materials for the various magnetic materials production (soft and hard ferrites). The precipitated iron oxides and iron oxide pigments can be obtained using hydrated iron (II) sulphate, the by-product separated in the process of titanium dioxide production by the sulphate-route technology. The aim of presented study was to determine the kinetic equations for the thermal transformations of precipitated iron oxides and hydroxides, namely: for the process of thermal dehydroxylation of goethite and consecutive process of hematite crystal structure growth as well as magnetite thermal oxidation to maghemite phase and its thermal transformation to the hematite structure. The investigations were carried out using thermogravimetry (TG/DTG/DTA), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD) and high temperature powder diffractometry (HT-XRD).
