Omówiono historię pierwszych trzech generacji elektrowni jądrowych na podstawie przeglądu wielu źródeł literaturowych. Przedstawiono proces zmian technologicznych zmierzający do zapewnienia w coraz większym stopniu bezpieczeństwa pracy tych elektrowni. Opisano większe awarie elektrowni jądrowych.

Described is the history of the first three generations of nuclear power plants based on a survey of many literature sources. Presented is the process of technological changes aiming to ensure the increase of the power plants' operational security. Described are some bigger failures of nuclear power plants.
