W artykule jest dyskutowane obliczanie trwałości zmęczeniowej przy skokowo zmiennych parametrach pracy łożysk tocznych, według dwóch różnych metod, podawanych w różnych katalogach i poradnikach. Została wykazana równoważność obydwóch metod co do zasady, ale jednocześnie autor poleca stosowanie jednej z tych metod ze względu na wady drugiej w pewnych zastosowaniach.

In this paper there are presented two methods of calculating the rolling bearing durability (rating life) in variable operating conditions (load and rotational speed). These two methods are given in modern bearing catalogues [L. 1, 2]. The first of them depends on using of formulas (1), (2), and (3); the second one - on bringing into play the expression (4). Further there is presented the analysis of equivalence degree of both methods. There are described some conditions, with assuring of which the both methods are proved equivalent. Subsequently, there is shown the exemplary calculation of durability for ball bearing and roller bearing. The magnitude of difference between the effects of these both methods results from the calculation. It was shown, that the effects are identical only in the case of calculation of nominal durability (basic rating life) for ball bearing. The greatest difference occurs, when the adjusted rating life (with the coefficient of lubrication a3) is calculated. The conclusion is drawn, that in any event it is better to employ the expression (4), because it never gives the improper results.
