W artykule podjęto próbę usystematyzowania dostępnej w źródłach literaturowych wiedzy na temat wpływu związków polimerowych pochodzenia mikrobiologicznego (EPS i SMP) na fouling membran w reaktorach typu MBR. Przedstawiono zależności pomiędzy ilością EPS i SMP a podstawowymi parametrami osadu czynnego. Jednocześnie wskazano na problemy w interpretacji wyników badań wynikające przede wszystkich z różnej metodyki oznaczeń chemicznych oraz warunków prowadzenia eksperymentów.

The aim of the article is to systematize the available in the sources of literature results of the research on the impact of polymeric substances of microbial origin (EPS and SMP) on fouling in membrane bioreactors. The article shows relations between the amount of EPS and SMP and the basic parameters of activated sludge. The authors point out the difficulties in interpreting the data, which are caused by the different methodologies of chemical analysis and experiments' set-up.
