The structure in question is a five-span overbridge of total length of 92,50 m and width of 11,80 m. In the paper reinforcement of the WBS prestressed beams damaged by a vehicle of non-standard dimensions is presented. The damage to the fascia beam was demonstrated by cracking of the web plate and beam flange, and some of the wires of one of the tension members was disrupted. In the secondary beams some loss of concrete and minor local cracking were observed. In the situation some emergency protection and final reinforcement were necessary. The fascia emergency state and damage to the secondary and tertiary beams decided of the method and scope of the immediate protection. Considering the location of the damaged beams in the overbridge and structural scheme of the object, it was sufficient to close to traffic the lane above the damaged beams and to support the fascia. In selecting the way of final reinforcement it was decided to apply a structural solution that would not interfere too much in the overbridge appearance. Following a thorough analysis, what was found to be the most rational way of reinforcing the fascia was a steel coat made from vertical steel sheets 12 mm thick on either side of the web plate and beam flanges and a horizontal sheet 16 mm thick at the beam bottom. To make the coat St3M structural steel was used. The coat was anchored to the RC deck and beam web plate. The proposed solution was found successful in practice. After over 10 and 2 years the reinforced beam are still in good technical condition. No symptoms of deterioration of operational quality have been observed.
