The paper investigates the complex relationship established between Place and History in the project of architecture. Main topic of the studies on the urban morphology and the building typology that characterize the teaching of Architectural Composition at Politecnico di Milano, the present study pursuits the objective to verily some of the key words today, using them in the analysis of two concrete cases where Place and History are compared and show their actual differences. If the first part of the work, in fact, enunciates the theoretical presuppositions that guide the research, in the second part of the text we see explained the works of some among the maximum exponents of the Italian architecture of the postwar period: BBPR, Luigi Moretti and Caccia Dominioni compare themselves about a small part of the city in Milan, while Ignazio Gardella and Franco Albini draw the new image of the hill of Castle in Genoa.

W artykule omówiono skomplikowaną relację pomiędzy miejscem i historią w projekcie architektonicznym. Głównym tematem studiów nad morfologią miejską i typologiami budynków na Politechnice Mediolańskiej jest zweryfikowanie niektórych kluczowych pojęć i wykorzystanie ich do analizy dwóch konkretnych przypadków, w których miejsce i historia są takie same i ukazują rzeczywiste różnice w projektach. W pierwszej części opisano założenia teoretyczne, które prowadziły do niniejszych badań, a w drugiej objaśniono prace najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli włoskiej architektury okresu powojennego. BBPR, Luigi Moretti i Caccia Dominioni wzięli udział w konkursie na małą część mediolańskiej dzielnicy, a Ignazio Gardella i Franco Albini stworzyli nowe wyobrażenie Wzgórza Zamkowego w Genui.
