PL

Rola śródlądowych dróg wodnych w transporcie w Unii Europejskiej jest znaczna, co jest szczególnie widoczne w Niemczech czy Holandii. W krajach tych w końcu lat 90. XX w. udział żeglugi śródlądowej w transporcie wynosił ok. 25% i planuje się zwiększenie go do ok. 33% w 2010 r. (Michalski, 2003). Założenia i realizację wspólnej polityki Unii Europejskiej przedstawiono m.in. w „Nowej klasyfikacji śródlądowych dróg wodnych" (Resolution No. 92/2), „Niebieskiej Księdze" (Inventory of main..., 1998) i raporcie PINE (2004). W dokumentach wśród krajów, w których transport wodny odgrywa znaczną rolę w gospodarce, wymienia się m.in. Finlandię.

The role of inland waterways in the EU transport is important, what is particularly noticeable in Germany or in Netherlands. At the end of the nineties of the 20th century, the share of the inland navigation in those countries' transport amounted to c.a. 25% and it is planned to be increased up to 33% in 2010 (Michalski, 2003). The guidelines and the realisation of the common EU policy were presented, among others, in the „New classification of inland waterways" (Resolution No. 92/2), the „Blue Book" (Inventory of main standards and parameters of the waterway network, 1998) and the PINE report (2004). In those documents, Filnand is listed among the countries where the water transport plays an important role in the economy.
