PL

Pojęcie ekorozwoju pojawiło się w 1972 r. na I konferencji ONZ "Środowisko i rozwój", ale po raz pierwszy zdefiniowano tę koncepcję dopiero w 1987 r. w Raporcie Brundtland "Our Common Future", gdzie przedstawiono pojęcie zrównoważonego rozwoju (sustainable development). W artykule przedstawiono zachowanie środowiska i jego zasobów naturalnych, możliwości poprawy warunków życia i bezpieczeństwa wszystkich ludzi, także wobec wzrostu światowej populacji oraz możliwości i ograniczenia rozwoju zrównoważonego. Autor konstatuje, że trudno dokładnie przewidzieć, jakie problemy i w jakim stopniu zostaną przez obecne pokolenia rozwiązane, a jakie pozostaną przyszłym. Jednak, tak jak nieprzewidywalne są procesy zachodzące w ekosystemach, czy w systemach społecznych, tak samo nieprzewidywalna jest pomysłowość i innowacyjność człowieka w pokonywaniu trudności.

The concept of the eco-development came into being at Ist United Nations Conference on "Environment and development" in 1972, but this concept was formulated and defined for the first time in 1987 in the Brundtland report "Our Common Future", in which the idea of sustainable development was presented. This paper presents the preservation of the environment and its natural resources, possibilities for improving living conditions and safety of all human beings also against the world population growth as well as the potentials and constraints of sustainable development. The author states that it is difficult to predict precisely which problems and to what extent will be solved by the present generations, and which will be left for the next ones. However, human inventiveness and innovative approach to overcome difficulties are as unpredictable as processes occurring in ecosystems or social systems.
