The notions presented in the article define the essence and importance of development and competitiveness in the context of determinants which describe and estimate the required level of product quality. Multicriterial analysis of features and properties of a product and their macroergonomic context, creates possibilities to compare and improve the system of work in which products are manufactured. In the end it was substantiated, that competitiveness of products is dependant on features characteristic to the third generation of ergonomics. The inserted results of the research indicate diversified assessment of particular elements of competitiveness and features which shape level of product quality by managements of enterprises.
