The paper presents a part of the research results connected with the investigation of the method of diagnostics of windings failures in three-phase induction motors on the ground of the machine vibration analysis and the noise test. Within the computer aided strategy, by means of the elaborated computer program the vibration and noise spectra were analysed and the essential diagnostic harmonics of vibration and noise of the three-phase slip-ring induction motor have been selected. The diagnostics method can be realized during the operation of an electric machine. It makes possible the quick detection of the motor failure. The following cases of the motor damages have been investigated: the internal short-circuit of the winding to the frame, the internal shorting between 2 phases and the shorting of the stator coil. Within the comparative diagnostics, the data of the symmetrical three-phase induction motor are the basis for a state valuation of the machine.
